West Indies, Bangladesh set for decider

Bangladesh and the West Indies hope to master the slow, dry pitch with an improved batting display when the series-deciding second and final Test starts in Dhaka on Saturday. Mushfiqur Rahim, leading Bangladesh in his first Test series, said the hosts were focussed on putting in an all-round effort instead of worrying out the wicket at the Sher-e-Bangla stadium.
"We are not too much worried about the wicket," the wicketkeeper-batsman said on Friday. "We want to put as many runs as possible on the board if we bat first, or take 10 wickets before they put up a big total. "We will have to focus on our skills. If we can do that, we can get a positive result from the Test. "It should be easier to bat on this wicket. I hope our batsmen keep this in mind and get a big score, so that the bowlers can put pressure on the West Indies."
Bangladesh's left-arm spinners Elias Sunny and Shakib Al Hasan claimed 11 of the 12 West Indies wickets to fall in the rain-hit opening Test in Chittagong which ended in a draw. The spin duo helped Bangladesh gain a 106-run lead when they restricted the West Indies to 244 in reply to the hosts' 350-9 declared in the first innings. West Indies captain Darren Sammy hoped his batsmen had learnt a good lesson on how to play spin and would be better prepared for the Dhaka Test.
"You know if you go to England you expect the ball to seam. If you go to Australia or South Africa you expect the ball to bounce," Sammy said. "When you come to the sub-continent you should expect the ball to spin. We are aware of that and we have to play spinners much better." Sammy said his side was determined to win the decider and complete a double on the tour after having clinched the one-day series. "There is a little bit of pressure involved in every game," he said. "When we came here we knew it was going to be difficult to play Bangladesh at home. So it has been a challenge to us."
