The Swiss franc fell slightly against the euro on Thursday boosted by a comprehensive package of measures to tackle the eurozone's sovereign debt crisis that European Union leaders hammered out during the night. The franc was down 0.1 percent against the euro to trade at 1.226 francs per euro.
Against the dollar, the franc edged 0.9 percent higher, trading at 0.8737 per dollar, as the greenback also faced pressure against the euro and the yen after the European deal sparked a relief rally across riskier assets.
