National Bank of Pakistan on Thursday received Rs 274 million from Pakistan Railways after which disbursement of pension to PR pensioners in Lahore continued smoothly. On Wednesday, NBP staff worked continuously for 16 hours and ensured that each and every pensioner present in the branch should be entertained.
Additional counters set-up at different branches and extended working hours mainly helped in meeting the huge pensioners demand which mainly came up due to non-availability of funds from Pakistan Railways. Even on Thursday, NBP pension distribution branches remained functioning after working hours to facilitate the pensioners.
As soon as the funds were made available on Wednesday and Thursday, NBP staff made every effort to ensure smooth disbursements. In addition to increase in the number of counters shade and water arrangements were also made at the branches. NBP management has also decided that its selected pension distribution branches will function on holidays, if there is a need to fulfil Pakistan Railways' pensioners requirements.-PR
