The profit after tax of Kot Addu Power Company (Kapco) has declined to Rs 1.197 billion in the quarter ended September 30, 2011 as compared to Rs 2.037 billion earned in the corresponding period in 2010. The board of directors of the company in its meeting held on October 24, 2011 declared that the company's earning per share has declined to Rs 1.36 in the period under review against Rs 2.31 in the same period last year.
According to the financial results sent to Karachi Stock Exchange, the company's sales increased to Rs 22.096 billion in this quarter against Rs 16.200 billion in the same period a year back. The cost of sales increased to Rs 19.633 billion against Rs 12.893 billion. The company's profit before taxation declined to Rs 1.824 billion in this quarter against Rs 3.091 billion in the same quarter last year.
