Provincial Minister for Agriculture, Malik Ahmad Ali Aulakh has said that media is of paramount importance in the development of agriculture. Print and electronic media can play an important role for conveying modern agricultural research to the farmers.
While addressing a ceremony held on the topic of Importance of Agriculture Journalism, the Minister said that the progress made by print and electronic media during past few years is laudable and through media, benefits of agriculture inventions, science research and opinions of agriculturists can be effectively conveyed to the farmers. He said that even today there is a great difference between progressive and traditional cultivation and the media by effectively transferring latest techniques of cultivation to the farmers can reduce this difference to a large extent. He said that if all the farmers adopt latest techniques of agriculture then agriculture produce could be increased manifold.
He further said that agriculture department is utilising print and electronic media in a better way for informing the farmers, he added.
