Heirs of dengue victims: distribution of financial assistance begins

Distribution of financial assistance to the heirs of those who died due to dengue virus has been started and a most transparent policy has been evolved in this regard and the particulars of the deceased have been prepared after thorough scrutiny.
Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif on Sunday went to Koh-e-Noor Housing Scheme, Kot Lakhpat and gave a cheque of Rs 500,000 to Muhammad Amjad, son of Ulfat Begum who died due to dengue. Senator Pervaiz Rashid and Member Provincial Assembly Ramzan Siddique Bhatti were also present on the occasion.
Expressing his sorrow and grief with the heirs of the deceased, Shahbaz Sharif said that financial assistance cannot be a compensation of any precious life, however he shares their grief. He offered Fateha and prayed that may Allah Almighty rest the departed soul in eternal peace. Later, when the Chief Minister was about to leave, a large number of people of the area gathered and they paid rich tributes to the Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif for his untiring efforts for eradication of dengue virus. They said that the Chief Minister Punjab has given a proof of Khadim-e-Punjab in real sense by serving ailing humanity in this hour of trial for which they are praying for him.
Talking on this occasion, Shahbaz Sharif said that he is standing with the people in the war against dengue and will not rest content till elimination of this virus. He said that a comprehensive strategy has been evolved for eradication of dengue and medicines and machinery have been imported by air. He said that training is being imparted to doctors and nurses whereas special teams comprising Sri Lankan and Indonesian experts have assisted us. He said that 150 doctors and nurses are being sent for training to Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Singapore and Thailand. Chief Minister mingled with the people without caring security and talked with them.
