Russian business delegation visits HCCI

Today a nine-member delegation from Federation of Russia visited Hyderabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry on Saturday. The delegation was lead by the Executive Director of Russian Business Council for Co-operation with Pakistan Dr Zahid A. Khan. He informed the House that Pakistani businessmen have enormous opportunities to have business in Russia. He said that the exporters from Pakistan can explore markets in Federation of Russia and can avail this opportunity.
The Federation of Russia and its businessmen are interested in establishment of bilateral and trade relations between Russian Federation and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in various prospective fields. He said that the money of some of the businessmen from the Federation of Russia was frozen in Pakistan. To solve this problem both the Governments are working and next meeting to address this issue is due to be held in Islamabad shortly.
Madam Olga, member of the Russian Delegation, said that trade is not the only thing which needed to be established, but more important is to establish love and mutual understanding which indeed is the key for long-term establishment of good business relationship. We are looking for establishing such trade relations with Pakistani counterparts.
Mr Ruakhoveskiy Mikhail of "Syuzpromiontract" company informed the House that he has made an advance payment of US dollars 326,900/= towards export of "Kino" and other fruits to a Karachi based firm namely M/s Ali Overseas Traders but the same firm has not sent the goods and is not responding any more. He said such type of irritants definitely would affect good trade relationship. The President Hyderabad Chamber of Commerce Gohar Ullah in his welcome address emphasised an enhancement of bilateral trade relationship between two friendly countries Pakistan and Russia.
He informed the delegation that Hyderabad being peaceful and second largest city of Sindh, Pakistan is full of opportunities for mutual investment in agro-based industries, automobile industry and power sector. The meeting was largely attended by the members of Hyderabad Chamber including Turab Ali Khoja Senior Vice-President, Abdul Saleem Arain Vice-President, Former Presidents Haji Muhammad Yaqoob, and Mehmood Ahmed, Former Vice-President Ziauddin, members Executive Committee Maqsood Ahmed Khan, Syed Yawar Ali Shah, Mukhtar Saeed, Dr M. Fareed Qasim, Nadeem Ahmed Siddiqui, Moiz Abbas and others.
