GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) Pakistan has donated over Rs 7 million to help the flood victims. Keeping to its tradition to help the victims of the natural calamities GSK moved quickly to provide assistance to the people affected by the heavy monsoon rains this year.
The rains have caused widespread damage affecting close to 9 million people particularly in the province of Sindh. The majority of GSK's donation has been in the form of food rations including over 160,000 kilos of wheat and essential medicine supplies for treating asthma, gastrointestinal and skin diseases, antibiotics and analgesics.
The company has been partnering with a number of organisations with grassroots logistical capability such as Pakistan Medical Association, Pakistan Navy and Pakistan Air Force to help support their flood relief efforts. GSK employees have also participated and volunteered to personally distribute relief goods to the victims on-site in interior Sindh in Mirpurkhas and Tando Allahyar.
