ISLAMABAD: Minister for Defence Engineer Khurram Dastagir Khan Wednesday said that joint efforts of Pakistan and United States, would help revive peace in Afghanistan.
Mutual cooperation between Pakistan and United States would also help eliminate the menace of terrorism in Afghanistan, he said while talking to PTV.
" In order to achieve targets or goals, United States should revive the working level dialogue or strategic dialogue with Pakistan, and avoid threatening or intimidating attitude against our country," he said.
Pakistan had cooperated with US due to which, Al-Qaeda was eliminated from this region, he said.
Without the intelligence sharing and cooperation of Pakistan, the US was not able to get success, he added.
There was a need to move forward to address the issues so that Pakistan and United States could achieve their common goal 'peace in Afghanistan', he said.
He said that Pakistan Armed forces were performing duties on the border to protect motherland. The minister said that Pakistan had achieved the success and restore peace after sacrifices of lives of thousands of Jawans and civilians.
To a question about child abuse case in Kasur district, he said law enforcement agencies were working to trace out the culprit behind this tragic incident.
He said the judiciary would take the action against the responsible person according to law. To another question about routing out the social crime, Khurram Dastagir said all available resources had been utilized to equip and modernize the police to control heinous crime. Replying to a query, he urged the opposition parties to avoid spreading disruption on roads. Opposition parties should use the forum of parliament to discuss any matter, he said.
