PSDP for 2011-12: textile projects got only Rs 26 million in first quarter

Federal government released only Rs 26 million out of Rs 150 million set aside in first quarter of the current fiscal year for five textile industry division projects under the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) for 2011-12, it is learnt.
According to documents made available to Business Recorder, only Rs 9.767 million of Rs 48.834 million were released for the project: 'providing and laying dedicated 48 inch Diameter mild steel water pipeline for Textile City Karachi'.
The government released Rs 5 million of Rs 25 million allocated in first quarter for Extension in Export Development Plan Implementation Unit while Rs 2 million of Rs 30 million allocated for Pak-Korean Garments Technology Training Institute, Karachi.
Similarly, federal government released Rs 3.5 million of 17.5 million allocated for first quarter of Lahore Garment City Company while Rs 5.736 million of Rs 28.682 million allocated for Faisalabad Garment City Project, Punjab.
