Taiwan stocks slip

Taiwan stocks ended down 0.22 percent on Wednesday, tracking regional markets and pressured by banks as investor concern lingered over the eurozone crisis and the US economic slowdown. But Genius Electronic Optical Ltd and other Apple Inc suppliers rose for a second session after Apple said iPhone 4S pre-orders had topped 1 million in a single day.
Taiwan's broader market was expected to remain in the 6,500-7,500 range in the short term, he said. The TAIEX index finished 16.36 points lower at 7,382.35, retreating from a 2.59 percent gain in the previous session. The financial sub-index shed 0.92 percent, and the glass sub-index lost 2.7 percent. Phone camera lens maker Genius climbed by the 7 percent daily limit and Largan Precision Co Ltd gained 5.4 percent.
