Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullha Khan has said that the Punjab government, under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, is following revolutionary policies for providing the ample advance medical treatment facilities to the people of the province and measures were being taken for providing most sophisticated and modern medical machinery to the government hospitals and health centres.
He said that the co-operation of the private sector could not be ignored for strengthening the health care facilities in the society. He urged that feasibility report should be finalised for the establishment of liver institute and liver transplantation centre in Faisalabad under the public private partnership system. He assured that the steps would be taken for getting this important project of advance medical treatment of liver diseases approved.
He was speaking to the briefing session at Liver Centre of DHQ Hospital after inauguration of Endoscopy suite in liver centre set up with the co-operation of Liver Foundation Trust. The law minister lauded the medical performance of Liver Centre and generous co-operation of trustees and said that the hepatitis patients were being provided quality medical treatment in the Liver centre, which was an excellent centre of this region.
He assured for the expansion of this Liver Centre for providing medical facilities of the liver patients. The minister also took a round of different sections of the Liver Centre and appreciated the work being done by the doctors and staff. During the briefing Incharge Liver Centre Dr Yasin Hashmi informed that the Liver Centre had been established in 2004 under the arrangement of Liver Foundation Trust and emergency services were available 24 hours.
He said that this Liver Centre was consisted of 50 beds with the facilities of state of the lab for the medical tests. He informed that as many as 236901 liver patients visited this centre so far since its establishment while 20179 liver patients had been given medical treatment at indoor sections, while 140370 lab tests had been carried out in this period.
