Law and Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) on Monday claimed to have detained 12 more suspects including three target killers in separate raids at various parts of the metropolis here. According to police sources, the Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) on a tipoff arrested Ghulam Ghaus alias Pannu from New Karachi and recovered a TT pistol from his possession.
They said the accused person, who belonged to one of the political parties, confessed to have involved in several targeted killings and riots. Similarly, the Garden police also claimed to have arrested two alleged target killers namely Rehan, son of Hassan and Ejaz Moosa with weapons in separate raids. The sources said these accused persons, who were also affiliated with political parties, were nominated in over a dozen targeted killing cases.
Meanwhile, Mobina Town police have detained five suspects, who were allegedly involved in several street crimes and recovered two pistols and a snatched rickshaw from them. Some four more suspects were taken into custody in separate raids at Mujahid Colony and KDA Chowrangi and recovered three TT pistols, a stolen car and a snatched motorcycle from their possession.
The Sindh Rangers during search operations at Lyari and Kharadar detained three suspects namely Aslam Ajju, Amir Bharam and Fahad Iqbal alias Fahad Pathan and recovered one Kalashnikov, three TT pistols, one 9mm, one dagger, one sword and 25kgs of narcotics from them. They said these detained persons, who associated with Lyari gangsters, were handed over to police for further investigation.
