UVAS, AIT develop consensus to build capacity standards

The University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences and Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) have developed consensus to move towards strengthening academic relations in different disciplines and to launch dual degree programme in MBA as well as one-year certification course to build human resource capacity as per international standards.
During a visit to the AIT, UVAS Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Muhammad Nawaz discussed with the delegation about the possibility of student/faculty exchange programmes on short- and long-term basis and starting joint research projects and other academic activities to get benefit from each other's knowledge-based expertise.
He also said that AIT and UVAS will cooperate to implement new programmes or reinforce and improve existing programmes located in UVAS and AIT in various fields of Environment, Resources, Development, Management, Engineering and Technology at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
He also discussed with them business-oriented initiatives such as Establishment of Business Incubation Centre (BIC), Establishment of Centre for Entrepreneurship and Leadership (CEL), etc. The sole purpose of these initiatives at UVAS, Dr Barbara exhibited full interest in students and faculty exchange programmes as well as in dual degree programme between the School of Management at AIT and Department of Economics and Business Management at UVAS.
AIT assistant professor and associate dean (Research and Outreach)Dr Anil Kumar Anal who had studied at Agriculture University Faisalabad and was once the student of Professor Dr Muhammad Nawaz during his meeting UVAS VC showed immense interest in developing long-term academic relations between UVAS and AIT.
He introduced the major activities of Food Engineering and Bioprocess Technology (FEBT) at School of Environment, Resource and Development (SERD). UVAS Vice- Chancellor Professor Dr Muhammad Nawaz explained the activities at department of food and nutrition of faculty of animal production and technology at UVAS.
Another meeting with AIT agriculture and natural resource economics (ANRE) Professor Dr Ganesh P. Shivakoti, UVAS Vice-Chancellor stressed that School of Environment, Resource and Development (SERD) and UVAS must share the contents of agribusiness programmes and come up with a proposal of collaboration for developing small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Pakistan.
