A panel of lawyers headed by former Chief Justice Lahore High Court Khawaja Muhammad Sharif will defend Mumtaz Qadri, who assassinated Salmaan Taseer. The hearing of the appeal against the death sentence to Qadri will be heard by a two-member bench led by Chief Justice of Islamabad High Court (IHC) Iqbal Hameed-ur-Rehman.
The panel representing Mumtaz Qadri before IHC include Khawaja Muhammad Sharif, Malik Jawad, Malik Rafiq and Shuja-ur-Rehman. Qadri signed his appeal papers in Adiala Jail on Monday. Mumtaz Qadri, was sentenced to two-time death with a fine of Rs 0.1 million by the Anti-terrorism Court, Rawalpindi on October 01.
