Activity at Karachi and Qasim ports

The Karachi Port handled 122,251 tonnes of cargo including 100,617 tonnes of import cargo, 21,634 tonnes of export cargo and 2,276 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Thursday. The total import cargo of 100,617 tonnes comprised of 18,609 tonnes of containerised cargo; 4,076 tonne of general cargo; 14,628 tonnes of bulk cargo and 63,304 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 21,634 tonnes comprised of 13,875 tonnes of containerised cargo; 59 tonnes of general cargo and 7,700 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. Six ships namely APL Coral, STX Patriakos, MOL Sparkle, MT Quetta, Arctic Bridge and Atlantic Hope with three container ships, two oil tankers and general cargo ship respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Four vessels viz Kota Singa, Conti Brisbane, Marilena and Galway Spirit carrying two container ships and two oil tankers respectively are currently at the berths. Five ships namely Kota Singa, Conti Brisbane, Vinalines Sky, Galway Spirit and An Xin Jiang carrying three container ships, oil tanker and general cargo ship respectively expected to sail on Thursday, while an oil tanker namely Marilena is expected to sail on Friday.
Two vessels viz Cap Graham and Grand Sapphire carrying container ship and vehicles carrier respectively due to arrive on Thursday, while nine vessels viz Emirates Wasi, APL Sokhna, YM South, YM Fuzhou, Sima Singapore, Kota Azam, MT Sargodha, Vega Aries and Eagle Strength carrying six container ships, rock phosphate, coal carrier and LSFO tanker respectively are due to arrive on Friday.

PORT QASIMA cargo volume of 41,327 tonnes, comprising 28,657 tonnes of import cargo and 12,670 tonnes of export cargo inclusive 1,277 loaded & empty containers (TEUs) was handled at the Port Qasim during last 24 hours on Thursday.
The total import cargo of 28,657 tonnes includes 17,930 tonnes of furnace oil and 10,727 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 12,670 tonnes includes 1,688 tonnes of cement and 10,982 tonnes of containerised cargo. Two ships namely CV CMA CGM Bellini and MV Sapphire-II sailed out to sea on Thursday morning.
A total number of four vessels viz CV CMA CGM Bellini, MV Sapphire-II, MV Mohammad Prince and MT Baltic are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement and furnace oil respectively during last 24 hours. Seven ships namely Al-Salam-II, Orient-III, Genisus Star-X, APL Chile, Glory, MSC Anafi and Nexo Maersk carrying diesel oil, cement, steel product and containers respectively are currently at the outer anchorage.
A total number of five vessels viz CV APL Chile, CV Glory, CV Nexo Maersk, CV Maersk Davenport and MT Gas Honor carrying containers and LPG respectively are expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminal respectively on Thursday. As many as eight container ships namely CV Sea Land Michigan, CV Najran, CV OOCL San Francisco, CV ACX Raffelesia, CV Nora Maersk, CV HS Bruckner and CV Anvil Point are due to arrive at Port Qasim.
