ISLAMABAD: Minister for Defence Khurram Dastgir Friday said thousands of civilians and armed forces' personnel had sacrificed their lives in the war against terrorism.
Pakistan had eliminated networks of terrorists from the country and operations were being carried out to wipe out remaining elements from the soil, he said talking to a private news channel.
He said operation Zarb-e-Azb and Radd-ul-Fasaad had yielded results in fighting menace of terrorism.
The minister said there was need to tell the world and United States (US) the achievements made by Pakistan in the war against terrorism.
He said US despite spending billions of dollars, could not achieve desired results in Afghanistan but Pakistan can not be held responsible for the situation there.
Khurram said Pakistan was fully capable to protect its frontiers. He said Pakistan has the most competent and experienced counter-terrorism force which had fought successful war against terrorism.
