Pir Mazhar says he doesn't own 'sugar mill'

Published Updated

Sindh Minister for Literacy and Education, Mazharul Haq, who is also the member of PPP central committee and party's parliamentary leader in provincial assembly, said on Monday that he had spoken truth, and time would decide who was right or wrong. Without naming Dr Zulfiqar Mirza, who owns sugar mills, Mazhar said in a statement that those who aspire to be Pakistan-level leader must be well aware that he (Mazhar) is an ordinary worker of PPP, and the workers like him "don't have any sugar mill".
The only asset we have is sacrifices, imprisonment, exile, and being loyal to party observing strict discipline," he said. "Owing to this asset, we couldn't be made hostage in the past, nor in the future," he added. He said that those who needed media publicity wanted to put their foot in a bigger shoe, instead of their own size. "PPP is like an ocean, and many a people disappeared in it when they tried to pose like 'Tees Mar Khan'," he said, and advised to change 'his' attitude towards senior party leaders.
It may be recalled that Dr Zulfiqar Mirza, who recently resigned from party and ministerial office, in a press conference had accused MQM leader Altaf Hussain of being a US ally and conspiring to break up Pakistan, and referring to his meeting with the latter in London, Mirza had said that Mazhar had accompanied him (ZM) in that meeting in which Altaf had said that MQM would be siding with the US in its plan. Mazhar on Saturday told media that he was present in that meeting with Altaf Hussain but would not divulge details of that meeting.
