Chief Minister of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Amir Haider Khan Hoti approved Rs 110 million for a Higher Education Commission (HEC) project to ensure early completion of the building of Khyber Medical University (KMU) Peshawar. According to details, the government has sanctioned Rs 110 million to complete the under construction building for KMU.
It is pertinent to mention here that the work executed under the federal scheme on the university building was slowed down due to insufficient funds. The Higher Education Commission (HEC) provided only Rs 110 million out of allocated fund of Rs 360 million. About Rs 35.371 million have so far been utilised on civil work comprising of academic block, administrative block and multi-purpose hall. The PC-I under the scheme "provision of building for Khyber Medical University Peshawar" costing Rs 110 million has been prepared again in order to utilise the provincial funds.
