Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Lahore (BISE) announced Intermediate Part II result 2011, here on Saturday. Total 149,805 students appeared in the examination and 69,904 were declared pass with the percentage 46.6 percent. The pass percentage among boys is 34.62 whereas pass percentage of girls was 54.63 percent.
In 2010, total 141,467 students appeared in the examination and 73,501 were declared pass with a percentage of 51.96 percentage. The position-holders of all the groups were given Rs 20, 000, Rs 15,000 and Rs 10,000 respectively while the overall position-holder was given Pentium 4 computer. A prestigious medal awarding ceremony was held at Alhamra to honour the position holders, which were announced on Friday evening. Education Minister Punjab, Mian Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman was the chief guest on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, he congratulated the position-holders and termed them as the future of the country. He said that the shining students should play their role in getting rid of corruption from the country by creating awareness among the people about this menace. He also highlighted the steps taken by the government of Punjab to reform the education system of the country.
MPA Khawaja Iran Nazir, Additional Secretary Higher Education, Zarak Mirza and Vice Chancellor of Government College University, Dr Muhammad Khaleeq-ur-Rahman were present on the occasion.
According to the results, Hira Iftikhar of Government Kinnaird College for Women got first position by obtaining 1039 marks, Javaria Tehzeeb of Government Kinnaird College for Women achieved second position by securing 1036 marks while three candidates jointly shared third position including Anum Manzoor of Government Kinnaird College for Women, Rubar Haider Jafri of Government Kinnaird College for Women and Ali Ayub of Government Islamia College Civil Lines by getting 1028 marks each.
In the Pre-Medical Group (among boys), Muhammad Arslan Arshad of Government College University Lahore got the first position by securing 1021 marks, Ahmad Bani Sardar and Mohammad Hamza of Government College University Lahore secured second and third position by getting 1018 and 1013 marks respectively. Among girls, Hira Iftikhar of Government Kinnaird College for Women achieved first position by securing 1039 marks. Javaria Tehzeeb of Government Kinnaird College for Women got second position by securing 1036 marks and Anum Manzoor and Rubar Haider Jafri of Government Kinnaird College for Women secured third position by getting 1028 marks respectively.
In the Pre-Engineering Group (boys), Ali Ayub of Government Islamia College Civil Lines Lahore stood first by getting 1028 marks. Mohammad Omer Ajmal and Ammadud Din Joya of Government College University Lahore stood second and third by getting 1027 and 1026 marks respectively. Among girls, Anum Sadiq of Punjab College for Women, Muslim Town stood first by getting 1025 marks, Ayesha Zulfiqar and Maryam Khalid of Government Kinnaird College for Women stood second and third by getting 1016 and 1015 marks respectively.
In the General Science Group (boys), Ashas Ahmad of Government College University Lahore stood first after getting 992 marks, while Hafiz Muhammad Salman Saeed and Daniyal Haleem of Government College University Lahore stood second and third by getting 976 and 970 marks respectively. Among girls in the aforesaid group, Abeer Shahbaz of Government Queen Marry College secured first position by getting 985 marks, Ramshah Jahangir of Lahore College for Women University, jail Road Lahore stood second by getting 985 marks, Mustabeen Iqbal and Nida Khaild of Government Kinnaird College for Women secured third position by getting 980 and 969 marks respectively.
In the Commerce Group (boys), Muhammad Ashfaq of Punjab College (Okara) secured first position by getting 975 marks, Bilawal Munir of Government MAO College secured second position by getting 960 and Mubashar Humayon of Punjab College of Commerce Rawaz Garden Chouburji secured third position by getting 956 marks. Among girls, Fareeha Waseem, Asma Abdul Razzaq and Rabia Fayyaz of Punjab College for Women Muslim Town stood first second and third by getting 994, 987 and 968marks respectively.
In the Humanities and other Group, among boys, Hafiz Muhammad Yasin, a private candidate, stood first by getting 931 marks. Shakoh Zulqurnain and Jawwad Raza Sultan of Government College University, Lahore secured second and third position by getting 919 and 968 marks respectively. Sara Zahid of Ghazali College for Women, Township stood first among girls in the same group by getting 940 marks. Sadia Arshad, a private candidate, stood second and Neelam Shah of Government Degree College for Women Kot Radha Kishan (Kasur) stood second and third by getting 933 and 917 marks respectively.
