Activity at Karachi and Qasim ports

The Karachi Port handled 94,969 tonnes of cargo including 71,554 tonnes of import cargo, 23,415 tonnes of export cargo and 4,081 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Thursday. The total import cargo of 71,554 tonnes comprised of 24,951 tonnes of containerised cargo; 58 tonne of general cargo; 10,545 tonnes of bulk cargo: 1,394 tonnes of sulphur; 7,471 tonnes of coal; 1,680 tonnes of rock phosphate and 36,000 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 23,415 tonnes comprised of 16,887 tonnes of containerised cargo; 2,829 tonnes of general cargo; 610 tonnes of cement; 289 tonnes of containers and 2,800 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. Seven ships namely Hansa Constitution, Greenwich Bridge, Hyundai Highness, APL Spinel, Argent Gerbera, Atlantic Gemini and Liberty Pride carrying four container ships, ethanol carrier, molasses ship and vehicles carrier respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Six vessels viz Kota Singa, Rio Grand Express, YM Europe, Atlantic Frontier, Magi Galaxy and New Activity carrying three container ships and three oil tankers respectively are currently at the berths. Two ships namely Kota Singa and Rio Grand Express with two container ships respectively are expected to sail on Thursday, while three ships namely Atlantic Frontier, Magi Galaxy and New Activity with three oil tankers are expected to sail on Friday.
A container vessel viz YM Fuzhou is due to arrive on Thursday, while seven vessels viz Emirates Wasi, Positano, APL Sharjah, OOCL Charleston, Kota Arif, Valdivia and Sky Dream carrying six container ships and chemicals carrier respectively are due to arrive on Friday.

PORT QASIMA cargo volume of 81,223 tonnes, comprising 68,128 tonnes of import cargo and 13,090 tonnes of export cargo inclusive 2,235 loaded & empty containers (TEUs) was handled at the Port Qasim during last 24 hours on Thursday. The total import cargo of 68,128 tonnes includes 32,053 tonnes of furnace oil; 6,500 tonnes of edible oil; 2,715 tonnes of urea and 26,860 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 13,090 tonnes includes 1,960 tonnes of cement and 11,135 tonnes of containerised cargo. Two ships namely CV Maersk Kingston and MV Sea Lion sailed out to sea on Thursday morning, while three more ships namely CV Nexoe Maersk, CV CMA CGM Verdi and MT Ginga Bobcat are expected to sail on the same day.
A total number of seven vessels CV Rhlfiducia, CV CMA CGM Verdi, Pago, Alaska-II, Hai Yu, Sea Lion and MT Ginga Bobcat are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, urea, furnace oil and edible oil respectively during last 24 hours. Eight ships namely Th Symphony, Fair Spirit, Alexi-I, Tycon-II, Al-Salam-II, Nexoe Maersk, Glory and New Sun carrying furnace oil, cement, diesel oil, containers and corn respectively are currently at the outer anchorage.
A total number of four vessels viz CV Nexoe Maersk, CV Glory, New Sun and MT Al-Salam-II carrying containers, corn and diesel oil are expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Grain & Fertiliser Terminal (FAP) and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Thursday.
