Activity at Karachi and Qasim ports

The Karachi Port handled 122,427 tonnes of cargo including 101,585 tonnes of import cargo, 20,842 tonnes of export cargo and 4,778 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Saturday. The total import cargo of 101,585 tonnes comprised of 43,706 tonnes of containerised cargo; 25,199 tonnes of bulk cargo: 3,459 tonnes of DAP; 16,200 tonnes of coal; 5,540 tonnes of yellow peas and 32,680 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 20,842 tonnes comprised of 18,554 tonnes of containerised cargo; 407 tonnes of general cargo; 1,281 tonnes of cement and 600 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. Five ships namely Lodestar Genesis, Sea Wave, Viona, Hanjin Monaco and Ozay-5 carrying two cement carriers, two container ships and ethanol ship respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Six vessels viz YM America, Banjo Bridge, Four Island, Norda, Borneo Pioneer and Suleyman Pasli carrying two container ships, three oil tankers and bulk cargo ship respectively are currently at the berths. Three ships namely Emirates Yangtze, Buxcrown and Cleantec carrying two container ships and DAP carrier respectively expected to sail on Saturday, while three ships namely Banjo Bridge, Ocean Host and Kota Anggerik with two container ships and coal carrier respectively are expected to sail on Sunday.
Six vessels viz APL Zircon, Kota Anggerik, Lt Triesta, Ocean Friend, Beacon SW and Free Hero carrying three container ships, coal carrier, steel carrier and talc powder carrier respectively are due to arrive on Saturday, while seven vessels viz Bon Vent, Neelambari, Pacific Sapphire, MOL Success, Conti Brisbane, CSL Ride and Agonistis carrying two ethanol ships, naphtha carrier, three container ships and coal carrier respectively are due to arrive on Sunday.

PORT QASIMCargo throughput stood at 74,766 tonnes, comprising 73,223 tonnes of import cargo and 1,543 tonnes of export cargo inclusive 4,259 loaded & empty containers (TEUs) was handled during last 24 hours on Saturday at the Port Qasim.
The total import cargo of 73,223 tonnes includes 62,223 tonnes of furnace oil and 11,000 tonnes of palm oil. The total export cargo of 1,543 tonnes includes cement only. MV Glory sailed out to sea on Saturday morning. A total number of six vessels CV MSC Magali, MV Wales-II, MV Glory, MV Saudi Abha, MT Pacific Energy and MT Theresa Gemini are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, palm oil and furnace oil respectively during last 24 hours.
Six ships namely Margurite Rickmers, Olympia Sponsor, Sea Lion, Th Symphony, Al-Salam-II and Nelson carrying containers, furnace oil, diesel oil and cement respectively are currently at the outer anchorage. A total number of three vessels viz MT Al-Salam-II, MV Nelson and MT Pramesti are expected to take berths at FOTCO Oil Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal (MW-3) and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Saturday.
