Dr Baloch Allah Wadhayo, Executive Director Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR), students and faculty of Diploma Disaster Risk Reduction from Preston University visited Earthquake Reconstruction and Rehabilitation Authority (ERRA) on Saturday, under ERRA's "Linkages Programme".
Initiating linkages with academia opens up venues for practical and academic research, which is going to be beneficial for not only policy making, but also for mitigation and mass awareness to handle disasters effectively. Welcoming the students and faculty, DG (A&P) Brigadier Mirza Saleem Beig emphasised the importance of effective management of post-disaster scenario, which he said depends upon effective blend of academic and practical on ground experiences.
ERRA has a wealth of practical experience and knowledge: not shared knowledge is destroyed, said Saleem, therefore, ERRA being futuristic wants to share its experiences with researchers and professionals in the field of Disaster Risk Reduction.-PR
