The two-day inter-provincial Women Entrepreneurs Eid Expo would start here on Saturday, (July 23) with an aim to provide an opportunity to the women entrepreneurs of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to expand their businesses. The expo has been organised by Islamabad Women's Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IWCCI).
The expo will show window handmade embroidery, dresses, jewellery, decoration pieces, traditional pots, and bridal accessories made by women entrepreneurs, President IWCCI Samina Fazil said. She said that women have the potential to recognise their skills at national and international level all they need is opportunity, adding that the chamber has planned this event so that women can offer their products and services in a better way.
"Our main objective is to facilitate poor segment of the society, especially women, to help them stand their own feet and earn livelihood for their family," she added.
Fair had been designed to promote the skills of businesswomen and give them an opportunity to learn from their counterparts, she said. Samina said that the participants would be given free consultancy services during the event and would be encouraged to build joint ventures with the visiting businesswomen. She urged the government institutions and banks to lend money to active women and help promote their businesses as they have outstanding record of returning loans in time.
