Five people were killed in separate incidents in different areas of the metropolis here on Saturday. According to details, a man and his son were shot dead in Hassan Umar Goth, Bin Qasim Town, in the limits of Shah Latif police station.
The incident took place on early hours of Saturday, when two armed men opened indiscriminate firing at vegetable stall in Hassan Umar Goth near Jogi Moor. Resultantly, Nazeer Bux, 45, and his son Imam Bux, 12, received multiple bullets and died on the spot. The bodies were shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for medico legal formalities.
Police said the victim used to run vegetable stall in same area where he resided, adding that the victim was threatened by his neighbours namely Kareem and Ahmed over a dispute. No case was registered till filing of this report. A bullet-riddled body was found at Sarya Street in the limits of Nippier police station. The victim was later identified as Faqeer Mohammad son of Mohammad Bux, a resident of Nayaabad Lyari. Police said the victim, whose hands and legs were tied with ropes, was hit by three bullets.
The body was shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) for legal formalities. No case was registered till filing of this report. An owner of a sweet shop was gunned down in Lines Area in the jurisdiction of Brigade police station. The victim Adeel, 29, son of Habib was attacked by unidentified men when he was standing at his shop. Resultantly, he received multiple bullets and succumbed to his injuries during treatment at JPMC. Police suspected that he might have been murdered over money dispute. Police registered a case against unidentified men on the complaint of victim's brother and initiated probe.
A man was shot dead at Shah Waliullah Road Lyari in the precincts of Baghdadi police station. The victim, Sohail, 25, son of Ilyas, a resident of Hussain Building Nayaabad Lyari, was targeted when he was travelling on his bike at Shah Waliullah road. Police shifted his body to CHK.
