Liberation struggle will continue to its logical end: Geelani

Veteran Kashmiri Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Geelani, has said that the ongoing freedom struggle will continue even if New Delhi doubled its military deployment in the territory. Syed Ali Geelani addressing a public gathering in Sopore said.
"Instead of 7.5 lakh, if Government of India deploys 15 lacs armed forces in occupied Kashmir, the people will still continue their struggle for freedom. If we do not achieve freedom, today, our coming generations will certainly take forward this struggle to its logical end." He condemned the police atrocities on people and said that these forces were at war against people to get promotions and medals, Kashmir Media Service reported.
Syed Ali reiterating his demand for demilitarisation said, "We do not want to separate a genuine part of India from it. We are fighting for our struggle as Indian fought for their freedom from Britishers." He said that the Kashmiris were not struggling for change of hands but for complete freedom and change of system.
"We are fighting on two big fronts: one against India and another against cultural aggression, which is tougher than the first. India wants to forcibly impose on us its culture to change our minds so that we become dissociated with the freedom struggle.
This is why the government is promoting obscenity, debauchery, immorality and use of alcohol and narcotic drugs. This all is going on under the patronage of rulers," he added. The veteran leader urged the Imams of Masajid to educate people against all these conspiracies. He also stressed for formation of Mohalla committees to dissuade youth from indulging in immoral practices and obscenity.
Meanwhile, Syed Ali in a statement asked the Organisation of Islamic Conference (OIC) to make resolution of Kashmir centre to its relations with India. "I humbly request all the member countries of OIC more particularly Saudi Arabia, Iran and Egypt to make resolution of Kashmir as an important determinant and guiding principle in their relations with India," he said in a statement which was read out and distributed at the OIC Conference at Kazakhstan. He expressed gratitude to the OIC's Contact Group on Kashmir for taking special interest in the resolution of Kashmir dispute.
