Message from Mian Raza Rabbani

There is no gainsaying the fact that the grant of provincial autonomy to the provinces is the singular achievement of the PPP. It is a matter of satisfaction for us that by the grace of GOD, the almighty, we have lived upto the expectations of the electorate. If the passage of 1973 constitution unanimously was our credit, the grant of provincial autonomy to the provinces was also PPP's achievement.
I consider it as my duty to thank all the political parties in parliament for their co-operation in making this possible. There is no denying the fact that the provincial autonomy is a panacea for many problems confronting provinces of the country. It will enable them to use all the required resources which have been placed at their disposal for solving them at the local level. It has been our endeavour to provide succor to the people of the county at their doorsteps which isn't possible without decentralisation of power. We do hope that grant of Provincial Autonomy will change the complexion of the country for the better. Thanks to all the political parties in parliament for their co-operation in making Provincial Autonomy possible.
