Taiwan stocks fall

Taiwan stocks fell 0.55 percent on Wednesday, tracking losses in regional bourses, but Apple supplier Hon Hai Precision rose after the company said it expects revenue to be much higher this year. Hon Hai, Apple's biggest manufacturing partner, ended up 0.5 percent. TPK, a touch panel supplier of Apple, rose 0.53 percent on a media report that its May sales hit a record high level.
The main TAIEX index closed down 49.57 points at 9,007.53, pulled lower by cement and tech shares. The Taiwan dollar stood at T$28.692 in midday trading, versus Tuesday's close of T$28.735. Foreign investors were net sellers of Taiwan stocks on Tuesday. Still, they are net buyers of T$16.7 billion so far this month.
