Activity at Karachi and Qasim ports

The Karachi Port handled 161,333 tonnes of cargo including 123,925 tonnes of import cargo, 37,408 tonnes of export cargo and 5,121 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Tuesday. The total import cargo of 123,925 tonnes comprised of 31,667 tonnes of containerised cargo; 34,346 tonnes of bulk cargo and 57,912 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 37,408 tonnes comprised of 17,033 tonnes of containerised cargo; 388 tonnes of general cargo; 14,764 tonnes of bulk cargo and 5,223 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. Six ships namely MT Lahore, CSL Ride, Bunga Raya Lima, Hyundai Freedom and Lindavia carrying oil tanker, coal carrier and four container ships respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Two vessels viz Mire and Ocean Jade carrying LSFO and coal carrier respectively are currently at the berths. Three ships namely Sheila Mcdevitt, Rosy Falcon and Miramis with two wheat carriers and ethanol ship respectively expected to sail on Tuesday, while three ships namely Moondance-II, YM Asia and Mire with coal carrier, container ship and LSFO respectively are expected to sail on Wednesday.
Five vessels viz APL Japan, Uru Bhum, Uru Bhum, Violetta and Ain Temouchment carrying three container ships and two coal carriers respectively due to arrive on Tuesday, while four vessels viz Oriental Chemi, Blossom, Marilena and Hs Challenger carrying base oil tanker, two chemicals carriers and container ship respectively are due to arrive on Wednesday.

PORT QASIMThe Port Qasim handled 68,246 tonnes of cargo includes 48,788 tonnes of import cargo, 19,458 tonnes of export cargo and 76 loaded & empty containers (TEUs) during last 24 hours. The total import cargo of 48,788 tonnes includes 48,593 tonnes of diesel oil and 195 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 19,458 tonnes includes 10,066 tonnes of wheat; 5,565 tonnes of cement; 3,071 tonnes of rice and 756 tonnes of containerised cargo.
A ship namely MV Saudi Diriyah sailed out to sea on Tuesday morning, while two more ships namely MT Al-Soor-II and MV Chang Qaing are expeected to sail on the same day A total number of seven vessels viz MV Saudi Diriyah, Alexi-I, MV Wales-II, MV Abdul, Zulal-N, MV Chang Qaing and MT Al-Soor-II are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, rice, wheat and diesel oil respectively during last 24 hours.
Three ships namely Kassos, Sealand Washington and Abu Dhabi carrying furnace oil and containers respectively are currently at the outer anchorage. A total number of three vessels viz Sealand Washington, Abu Dhabi and Kassos carrying scheduled to load/offload containers and furnace oil respectively are expected to take berths at Container Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Tuesday.
