The Swiss franc hovered near an all-time low against the dollar on Monday, after disappointing US jobs data weighed on sentiment against the greenback, prodding cautious investors into the safe-haven currency. By 0628 GMT the dollar was trading at 0.8345 per franc, off lows hit in earlier trading.
News that Greece will probably receive a vital slice of aid in July and a convincing election win by Portugal's centre-right Social Democrats gave some support to the euro against the franc, although large gains were kept in check. The euro inched slightly higher against the franc, compared to Friday's New York close, trading at 1.2223 per franc.
