The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has provisionally collected Rs 1,310.39 billion during July-May (2010-2011) against target of Rs 1,302.600 billion, reflecting achievement of 100.6 percent target during the period under review.
According to the revenue collection figures released by the FBR here on Wednesday, the revenue collection target for July-May (2010-2011) has been fixed at Rs 1,302.600 billion. The FBR has provisionally collected Rs 1,310.39 billion during July-May (2010-2011) against Rs 1,136.8 billion collected during the corresponding period of the last year, reflecting an increase of 15.3 percent. The FBR has collected Rs 160.55 billion during the month of May 2011 as compared to Rs 110.26 billion collected in May 2010, registering 45.6 percent growth and surpassing the target of Rs 152.8 billion set for the month. Aggregate collection up to May 31, 2011 thus works out to Rs 1310.39 billion as against Rs 1136.8 billion collected during the corresponding period of the last year.
Break-up of revenue collection during July-May (2010-2011) revealed that the FBR has collected Rs 479.188 billion as direct taxes during the period against target of Rs 487.900 billion, reflecting achievement of 98.2 percent target.
Sales tax collection stood at Rs 552.431 billion during July-May (2010-2011) against target of Rs 541.900 billion, reflecting achievement of 101.9 percent target.
The collection of federal excise duty (FED) was Rs 119.614 billion during the period under review against target of Rs 115.200 billion, showing achievement of 103.8 percent target.
The customs duty collection stood at Rs 159.160 billion during July-May 2010-2011 against target of Rs 157.600 billion in the corresponding period last fiscal, reflecting achievement of 101 percent.
The data of monthly collection issued by the FBR revealed that the FBR has collected Rs 160.558 billion during May against revised target of Rs 152.800 billion, reflecting achievement of target of 105.1 percent. The collection of direct taxes was Rs 47.936 billion during May 2011 against target of Rs 56.600 billion, showing an achievement of 84.7 percent. The sales tax collection was Rs 77.460 billion against target of Rs 66.900 billion, showing an achievement of 115.8 percent target. The FED collection was Rs 17.438 billion against target of Rs 13 billion, reflecting achievement of target of 134.1 percent. The collection of customs duty was Rs 17.724 billion during May 2011 against target of Rs 16.300 billion, showing an achievement of 108.7 percent.
