The Jamaat-i-Islami chief, Syed Munawwar Hasan, has said, the Nato chief's statement about Pakistan's nukes security clearly indicated the US designs and if the rulers did not announce immediate pull out of the US war on terror, it would be too late.
He said that it was not war against terror; it was a war against Pakistan and its nuclear programme wherein France, India, Israel and Britain were the US allies. If Pakistan failed to take a policy decision at this stage, it won't be able to defend its case in the UN Security Counsel, he argued.
However, he believed that nothing good was expected from the present rulers who were US salves, therefore, the patriotic forces in the country must rise for the defence of the country. He was sure that the rulers could not keep the nation in the dark as the media was free.
The JI chief said, Russia considered Pakistan responsible for its defeat in Afghanistan while China did not trust Islamabad because of the pro-US policies of the rulers. Therefore, it was time to dissociate ourselves from the US war and adopt fool proof measures for the defense of our eastern and western frontiers besides military installation.
He said that Pakistan was the biggest sufferer in this war. It had lost over 35,000 innocent citizens including military personnel besides incurring financial loss above 70 billion dollars. Despite that, US did not trust this country and insulting statements were issued against Pakistan every day. The US aid received so far was not even one percent of the loss suffered by this country. The country's economy had been ruined and budget deficit had risen above 1000 billion rupees. Not only the foreign investors, but Pakistani investors were shifting their capital to foreign lands. The law and order was dismal and price spiral and unemployment had made the life of the masses miserable.
In spite of all that, the rulers remained US allies in the war and had termed the US war as their own war. He said the US interference in the country had become intolerable.
The domestic, foreign and defense policies were being framed under US and the IMF dictation. He said since the Abbotabad operation, India had also been hurling threats. The enemy was camping at our eastern and western borders but different institutions of the country including the armed forces were involved in the US war. Syed Munawwar Hasan said that the number of terrorists involved in the Naval base attack was about two dozen of which only four had been killed by the navy commandos while about 16 had fled after the terrorist activity.
