Lieutenant Syed Yasir Abbas Naqvi only son of colonel syed Jaffar Abbas, who was martyred in PNS Mehran attack, was laid to rest in Askari 10 graveyard here on Tuesday. Punjab Governor Latif Khosa, Deputy Speaker Punjab Assembly Ran Mashood, Corps Commander Lahore, Commander Navy and large number of people from all walks of life attended the funeral prayer.
Very touchy and pathetic scenes were witnessed when the body of martyr Yasir, wrapped in the national flag and flowers reached the site of funeral prayer. His Qul will be offered on Wednesday (today) at 4:00pm in-B. Block mosque in Askari 10. Yasir got commission in Pakistan Navy in 2005 and was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant in 2009. He was the only brother of three sisters and the family was planning his marriage in the near future. Talking to media persons, father and a sister of Yasir said that Yasir has raised the head of the nation by sacrificing his precious life for the defence of the homeland.
