Pakistan Navy on Tuesday lodged an FIR over the attack on PNS Mehran Airbase that claimed 10 security personnel lives and wounded 15 others. A case 447/11 was registered by Sharea Faisal police station under sections 302, 324, 427, 353, 121/34 of Pakistan Penal Code and section 3 and 4 of Explosive Act and section 7 of Anti Terrorism Act on the complaint of Lieutenant Irfan against 12 unknown suspects.
According to FIR, around 12 terrorists having rocket launchers, Kalashnikov and other deadly weapons entered in the PNS Mehran Airbase by climbing over the back wall of the base with the help of ladders. It said that 10 security personnel were martyred while four terrorists were also sent to hell in this attack.
Moreover, it said the security personnel have recovered two live suicide jackets, 10 hand grenades, 1 rocket launcher and 4 Kalashnikovs from the possession of these four terrorists. It is interesting to mention that Interior minister Rehman Malik in his Monday's press conference confirmed the presence of six terrorists, of them, four were killed while two others managed to flee from the Airbase. He also declined the arrest of any suspect during the operation. Contrary to his statement, the Pakistan Navy has nominated 12 terrorists in PNS Mehran Airbase attack, which led to raise several serious questions among the masses.
When contacted DSP Al-Faleh Ramzan Gopang in this regard said the Navy officials suspected that some 12 terrorists took part in this atrocious exercise, albeit Interior minister Rehman Malik had confirmed the number of terrorists in this attack. Therefore, they nominated 10-12 suspects in this attack. Needless to mention, the terrorists, who took advantage of darkness, entered in the PNS Mehran base at 10:40pm of Sunday night and destroyed two P-3C Orion aircrafts and targeted various other sensitive installations besides killing 10 security personnel and wounded 15 others.
