Taiwan stocks fell 0.63 percent on Friday, ending the week with a 1.9 percent decline, amid a global sell down on concerns over the health of the US economy and Greece's debt situation. The main TAIEX index fell 55.85 points at 8,837.03. The tourism sub-index was the biggest loser, off 1.89 percent. Electronics shares slipped 0.49 percent, while the banking sub-index fell 0.72 percent. The Taiwan dollar gained 0.28 percent to T$28.772.
