The European Commission said a flash estimate showed eurozone consumer morale increased to -9.7 in May from a revised -11.6 in April and after -10.6 in March.
April was revised down from an initial estimate of -11.4. In the wider 27-member European Union, consumer sentiment improved more sharply, to -10.6 in May from -13.9 in April.
