The Karachi Port handled 88,745 tonnes of cargo including 63,595 tonnes of import cargo, 25,150 tonnes of export cargo and 4,081 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Wednesday. The total import cargo of 63,595 tonnes comprised of 28,616 tonnes of containerised cargo; 321 tonnes of general cargo; 11,658 tonnes of bulk cargo: 10,748 tonnes of coal; 910 tonnes of rock phosphate and 23,000 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 25,150 tonnes comprised of 12,681 tonnes of containerised cargo; 1,086 tonnes of general cargo; 9,883 tonnes of bulk cargo: 4,112 tonnes of cement; 5,771 tonnes of wheat and 1,500 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. Four ships namely Northern Valence, Bunga Raya Dua, Conti Express and Iron Butterfly carrying two container ships, steel & general cargo and project cargo respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Seven vessels viz Wan Hai-602, Valdivia, APL Cyprine, Yong Jin, Sea Sky, Oriental Emerald and Cordelia carrying three container ships, wheat carrier, LSFO, naphtha and coal carrier respectively are currently at the berths. A container ship namely Wan Hai-602 expected to sail on Wednesday, while another ship namely Sea Sky is expected to sail on Thursday.
Three vessels viz MT Lahore, Manila Express and Valopoula carrying crude oil tanker, container ship and DAP carrier respectively due to arrive on Wednesday, while five vessels viz Chemroad Dita, SCF Alpine, Hanjin Berlin, Konstantina and Golden Falcon carrying ethanol, mogas, two container ships and rice carrier respectively are due to arrive on Thursday.
Three container ships namely CV Fowairet, CV UASC Shuwaikh and CV Nedlloyd Drake sailed out to sea on Wednesday morning, while two more ships namely MT SC Shantou and MT Enrico Ievoli are expected to sail on the same day afternoon. A total number of seven vessels viz CV Fowairet, CV UASC Shuwaikh, CV Nedlloyd Drake, MV Hunter-K, MV Al-Aska, MT SC Shantou and MT Enrico Ievoli are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, wheat, cement, palm oil and phosphoric acid respectively during last 24 hours.
Five ships namely CMA CGM Puccni, ACX Rafflesia, Al-Soor-II, MT Karachi and Liberty Spirit carrying containers, diesel oil, furnace oil and wheat respectively are currently at the outer anchorage. A total number of five vessels viz CV CMA CGM Puccni, CV ACX Rafflesia, MV Liberty Spirit, MT Ocean Concord and MT Dl Ace carrying containers, wheat, rice, furnace oil and chemicals respectively are expected to take berths at Container Terminal, Grain & Fertiliser Terminal (FAP), FOTCO Oil Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminal respectively on Wednesday, while another ship namely Bussra Naree is due to arrive on the same day.
Four ships namely CV CSAV Appennini, CV Dubai Express, CV MSC Sierra-II and MV Narghade respectively are due to arrive at Port Qasim on Thursday. A total number of three vessels viz Glory, MSC Magali and Ocean Star carrying containers and wheat are also expected to arrive at Port Qasim.
