US MIDDAY: wheat jumps

US wheat futures jumped nearly 3 percent early on Tuesday, aiming for the largest daily gain in over a week, as harsh weather damaged crops and stoked concerns about supply meeting demand. Chicago Board of Trade wheat for July delivery gained 2.8 percent to $7.57-1/4 per bushel at 11:26 am CDT (1544 GMT), on pace for the contract's largest percentage gain in over a week.
Chicago corn for July delivery rose 2 percent to $7.11-1/2 per bushel, adding to Monday's 2.3 percent gain on supply concerns. The contract fell more than 5 percent last Wednesday. Soybeans for July delivery rose 0.2 percent to $13.29-1/4 per bushel.
