International literary and cultural conference held at Al-Hamrah

Senior Advisor to Chief Minister Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa has said that writers and poets have played important role for creating determination, unity and awakening the nations and the poetry of Allama Iqbal is a living example of it. He said that era of our deprivations is not over; therefore, the writers and poets have to play the same role for guiding the society, which our literati had played in the past.
He was addressing the inaugural function of international literary and cultural conference at Al-Hamrah on Saturday. Prominent columnist and Chairman Board of Governors Lahore Arts Council Atta-ul-Haq Qasmi and Wasi Shah also addressed the conference.
Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa said that writer is the custodian of literary and social values of the society and spokesman of its problems. He said that the literature written for respect to humanity and promotion of human values can be termed the literature for life. He said that it is a matter of pride that the writers of Pakistan have promoted the literary culture through quality literary pieces in national and regional languages and their efforts in this regard are commendable. Khosa said that education and literature is part and parcel of each other. An educated person can really encourage literary pieces in real sense.
