Equities move both ways on LSE

Equities moved both ways on Friday and closed in minus column at Lahore Stock Exchange (LSE) amid ascending transaction volume. The LSE-25 index lost 3.60 points and closed at 3204.21 points against 3207.81 points of Thursday. Transaction volume increased to 2.030 million shares, as compared to 1.937 million shares.
According to brokers, the market was showing negative signs on account of investors' lack of interest. National Refinery, Pak Oilfields, FFC, Engro Corp, Millat Tractors, Century Paper, Shakarganj Mills, SNGPL, Dewan Farooq Motors and SSGC resisted pressure and registered gains while PSO, Tariq Glass, SS Oil Mills, Nishat Chunian, Nishat Mills, Standard Chartered Bank, Arif Habib and Kot Addu Co suffered losses.
The gainers were just ahead of the losers, as of 118 active companies, 28 closed in green and 25 suffered losses, while 65 companies stayed unchanged. National Refinery gained Rs 5.92, Pak Oilfields improved by Rs 1.68, FFC appreciated by Rs 1.57. Engro Corp, Millat Tractors, Century Paper, Shakarganj Mills, SNGPL, Dewan Farooq Motors and SSGC were up by Rs 1.15, Re 1.00, paisa-0.97, paisa-0.90, paisa-0.80, paisa-0.50 and paisa-0.49, respectively.
PSO shed Rs 2.00, Tariq Glass Industries declined by paisa 96, SS Oil Mills lost paisa 70, while Nishat Chunian, Nishat Mills, Standard Chartered Bank, Arif Habib and Kot Addu Company were down by paisa 66, paisa 50, paisa 42, paisa 33 and paisa 25, respectively.
