London copper fell on Thursday after plunging overnight to its lowest price since December on concern about slow demand from China, the world's top consumer. The most-active July copper contract on the Shanghai Futures Exchange tracked losses on the London contract, shedding 3.2 percent to 64,220 yuan a tonne at its close, bouncing off a session trough of 64,110 yuan, another five-month low.
Slower-than-expected industrial output growth from China on Wednesday could signal further softness in demand for copper from the world's largest metals consumer.
