The Karachi Port handled 97,360 tonnes of cargo including 65,561 tonnes of import cargo, 31,799 tonnes of export cargo and 4,455 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Wednesday. The total import cargo of 65,561 tonnes comprised of 35,254 tonnes of containerised cargo; 1,790 tonnes of rock phosphate and 28,517 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 31,799 tonnes comprised of 22,410 tonnes of containerised cargo; 1,359 tonnes of general cargo; 6,030 tonnes of bulk cargo: 2,706 tonnes of cement; 3,324 tonnes of talcum powder and 2,000 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. Six ships namely High Glow, Falda, Kota Akbar, Hansa Constitution, Hyundai Highness and Hanjin Manaco carrying three container ships, tug and three container ships respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Five vessels viz Bella, APL Coral, Hanjin Beijiang, Shoko Maru and Stena Paris carrying three container ships and two oil tankers are currently at the berths. Two ships namely APL Coral and Hanjin Beijiang carrying two container ships expected to sail on Wednesday, while another ship namely Stena Paris with oil tanker is expected to sail on Thursday.
Four vessels viz Quetta, STX Patriakos, Cap Gebriel and Alliance St Louis with crude oil, two container ships and vehicles carrier respectively due to arrive on Wednesday, while eight vessels viz YM Uranus, Lodestar Genesis, Pardis, Lavender, Ital Ottima, Hong Xin Angel and Red Sea Spirit carrying ethanol, naphtha, chemicals, three container ships, rock phosphate and coal carrier respectively are due to arrive on Thursday.
Three ships namely CV UASC Doha, CV Saudi Hofuf and MV Majestic sailed out to sea on Wednesday morning, while another ship namely MV Nedlloyd Tasman is expected to sail on the same day afternoon. A total number of seven vessels viz Nedlloyd Tasman CV UASC Doha, CV Saudi Hofuf, MV Rana, MV Majestic, Dlace and Never Land are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, wheat, chemicals and furnace oil respectively during last 24 hours.
Six ships namely Al-Nouf, Al-Salam-II, Hunter-K, Aruni Rickmers, Genmark Compatriot and CGM Chopin carrying furnace oil, diesel oil, wheat and containers respectively are currently at the outer anchorage. A total number of three vessels viz CV Aruni Rickmers, CV CGM Chopin and MT Hunter-K carrying containers and wheat respectively are expected to take berths at Container Terminal and Grain & Fertiliser Terminal (FAP) respectively on Wednesday.
