Three persons were injured in an improvised explosive device (IED) explosion outside the residence of ANP leader and KP Minister for Agriculture Mohammad Ayub Jan here on Sunday. According to district administration, locally made IED was used in the explosion near the turning point of the residence of the provincial minister on G T Road.
The explosion damaged a motor car beside injuring three persons. The injured were Inam Khan son of Hakeemullah 38, Rashid son of Amin Gul 25, and Mohammad Shakeel son of Sher Azam. They were rushed to Lady Reading Hospital (LRH) and were later discharged.
Talking to media, Minister Mohammad Ayub Jan said that such cowardice acts by the terrorists would not deter him from serving the country and the people. He said that he was the ultimate target of the terrorists' act, adding that the elements involved in the incident would be brought to justice. District Co-ordination Officer (DCO) rushed to the spot to find out the exact position. According to bomb disposal squad, one kg explosive was planted in a tin, which exploded with a bang when a car was passing through the area.
