Karachi Port's activities

The Karachi Port handled 72,756 tonnes of cargo including 40,862 tonnes of import cargo, 31,894 tonnes of export cargo and 4,621 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Saturday. The total import cargo of 40,862 tonnes comprised of 36,322 tonnes of containerised cargo; 2,240 tonnes of rock phosphate and 2,300 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 31,894 tonnes comprised of 24,593 tonnes of containerised cargo; 1,391 tonnes of general cargo; 1,410 tonnes of cement and 4,500 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. Five ships namely Caribbean Sea, Viona, Cap George, VML-2 and CMC Vision carrying three container ships, barge and tug respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Five vessels viz Marcampania, OOCL Dalian, APL Guangzhou, TS Nagoya and CSL Ride carrying five container ships are currently at the berths. Two ships namely TS Nagoya and CSL Ride carrying two container ships expected to sail on Saturday, while four ships namely Al-Mirqab, Sea Wave, OOCL Dalian and APL Guangzhou with container ship, cement carrier and two container ships are expected to sail on Sunday.
Two vessels viz Al-Mirqab and Hansa Century with two container ships respectively due to arrive on Saturday, while nine vessels viz Dongbu Peomy-1, Falda, High Glow, MT Karachi, MOL Sea Breeze, Bunga Raya Empat, Hyundai Highness, OEL Trust and APL Brisbane chemicals, light diesel oil, mogas, crude oil and five container ships respectively are due to arrive on Sunday. Three ships namely Stena Paris, YM Uranus and Shoko Naru with naphtha and ethanol respectively are due to arrive on Monday.
