Four people were hospitalised in China after a glass door at Apple's flagship store in Beijing smashed to pieces Saturday as scores rushed to buy the new iPad tablet, according to Chinese reports. Police were investigating the incident, which caused the store to close.
According to reports, security guards employed by the store to maintain order and prevent queue jumping clashed with the crowd. In the confrontation, a glass door smashed to pieces when a group of customers were pushed up against it. Photographs posted online showed injured people with blood on their faces and hands. Long queues had formed outside the store as soon as Apple's latest product went on sale on Friday.
