Five social security officers to be suspended

Punjab Minister for Labour, Auqaf, Religious Affairs and Baitul Mal, Haji Ihsanuddin Qureshi has said 5 social security officers to be suspended for being absent from duty. The minister directed the concerned authorities to take action against them. He paid surprise visit to the Directorate of Punjab Social Security West Circle at about 9.30am on Friday and checked the attendance register.
During inspection he found out that social security officers Rasheed Ahmad, Khalid Mehmud, Muhammad Shafique, Muhammad Ramzan and Aqdas Ali were absent from duty. Moreover, the minister ordered to issue show cause notice to the MS of Social Security Hospital Madina Town on the poor sanitation and cleanliness condition in the hospital. He directed the entire staff to perform their duties with devotion and passion so that patients could be provided better environment.
During the visit to the hospital he took round of various sections and checked the medical treatment facilities being provided to the patients. He inquires from the patients about the medical treatment facilities and ordered the management of the hospital to maintain good governance. He also inspected the dispensary of the hospital and checked the quality and availability of the medicines and directed the concerned officers to ensure the genuine and high quality medicines.
The minister also inspected the various patrol pumps in the city and checked their scales of measuring petroleum products. During the inspection he got 3 units of patrol pumps sealed located at D Ground, Tizab Mills Chowk and Jaranwala road. He said that he would personally visit the entire province to check the instruments and tools of weight and measure under the directions of chief minister of Punjab and if any irregularity would be detected, the concerned officer of labour department would be held responsible.
He directed the officers of local labour department to ensure the regular inspection of the patrol pumps otherwise departmental legal action would be taken against the defaulters without any discrimination. He warned that any corruption and negligence from duty would not be tolerated. Director Social Security East Cricle, Muhammad Shafique, DO Labour, Muhammad Aslam Javed, Assitant Directors, Saeed Dillohn, Munawar Hussain Awan and other officers were also present.
