Pakistan and Indian railway officers discussed technical issues pertaining to the operation of passenger and freight trains running between Wagha and Attari during their biannual meeting at Zero Point on Tuesday. The Pakistani side was led by railway''s Lahore Divisional Superintendent, Abdul Jabbar while the Indians were headed by Ferozpur Divisional Railway Manager, Vishwesh Chaubey.
The two sides decided to devise ways and means to remove existing bottlenecks that cause inordinate delays in the operation of Samjhota Express and goods train between Wagah and Attari. They also agreed to urge their respective customs and immigration authorities to simplify procedures in order to facilitate the passengers.
