Disqualification case: LHC issues notice to PML-N MNA

Lahore High Court here Friday issued notice to PML-N MNA Khawaja Saad Rafiq in an application of PML-Q Humayun Akhtar seeking restoration of a disqualification case dismissed for non-prosecution. The court on April 1 last had dismissed Akhtar's petition. The petitioner's counsel pleaded that a case involving interest of a large number of people belonging to the constituency should be decided on merit instead of technical grounds.
Humayun Akhtar Khan, who had lost his general election against Khawaja Saad in NA-125 Lahore, had accused Saad Rafiq of concealing his assets at the time of filing nomination papers and also not disclosing from where he earned huge money.
