T10 League: New format comes with new challenges

The all new T10 Cricket League is all set to kickoff in Sharjah on Thursday, with six teams squaring off against each other in 10-over a side game.

As is the case with almost all cricket league formats such as Indian Premier League (IPL), Pakistan Super League (PSL), Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), Big Bash (BB), the teams of T10 league have interesting names such as Maratha Arabians, Pakhtoons, Bengal Tigers, Kerala Kings, Punjabi Legends and Colombo Lions. Each squad is captained by an Icon Player.

There will be a round-robin league stage, in which each team, divided into two groups, will play each other twice. This will be followed by a knockout stage in which each the top three teams of each group play each other followed by the semi-finals and the final.

In the opening game Bengal Tigers will face Kerala Kings while in the second match of the day Pakhtoon will meet Maratha Arabians

The four day long tournament will conclude on December 18.
