Newly appointed Secretary Health Punjab, Muhammad Jehanzaib Khan has said that equal access to health facilities is the basic right of every citizen and added that government will ensure provision of best medical treatment to all the patients in public sector hospitals without any discrimination.
While talking to media-men at his office, secretary health said that tremendous work has been done for the development of health sector in Punjab. Chief Minister Muhammad, Shahbaz Sharif has taken solid steps for making government hospitals patient-friendly and free medicines are being provided in emergency as well as indoor patients. He also said new medical colleges and hospitals are being set up to accommodate the rising population. There is a lot of work to do in health sector.
Jehanzaib further said he will work hard to further improve hospitals' working so that every patient could get equal opportunity of treatment without any discrimination. While responding to a question, the secretary health said medical profession is a noble occupation and the doctors, nurses and paramedics serving the ailing humanity are respectable segments of the society. He added that all stakeholders will be taken on board and given due respect.
